Terms of Service
Last updated 15 August 2026
Draft pending legal review. Items marked [to confirm] need a decision before launch.
1. Agreement
These terms are between you and [legal entity — to confirm] (“we”, “us”). By creating an account you agree to them. You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live.
2. What Ntalah is — and is not
Ntalah is a record-keeping and coordination tool. We do not hold, transfer, invest or process your money. Members pay one another directly and record those payments here.
We are specifically not:
- a bank, deposit-taker or e-money institution;
- a payment processor or money-transfer service;
- an escrow or custodian of group funds;
- a financial, legal, tax or investment adviser.
A record in Ntalah is evidence of what someone reported, confirmed by whoever your group appointed to confirm it. It is not a guarantee that money moved.
3. Your group runs itself
Each group sets its own rules — its constitution — including contribution amounts, payout order, joining fees, interest on loans and what happens when someone misses a payment. Those rules are an agreement between your members, not with us. We do not arbitrate disputes, enforce contributions, or recover money on anyone's behalf.
Group admins and finance members can confirm payments, record payouts, manage membership and change group settings. Choose them carefully.
4. Your responsibilities
- Keep your sign-in details secure, and tell us if you think someone else has them.
- Record payments honestly and promptly.
- Only upload a proof of payment that is yours to share, and do not upload anything unlawful.
- Do not use Ntalah for money laundering, fraud, or any unlawful scheme — including a pyramid or Ponzi arrangement dressed up as a savings group.
5. Paid features
Creating groups beyond the free allowance, adding member seats beyond each group's free allowance, and AI credits are paid. Seat packs renew monthly and the amount follows the number of packs you hold — remove a pack and next month's charge drops. You can cancel at any time from the Billing page.
Payments are handled by our payment provider; we never see your card details. [Refund policy — to confirm]
If a payment fails we will retry. We do not remove anyone from a group for non-payment — an exhausted seat pool only prevents new members joining.
6. AI features
Group insights and the assistant are generated by a third-party AI model and can be wrong. Treat them as a prompt to look at something, never as advice or as a statement of fact about your group's money. Always check the underlying records.
7. Availability
We work to keep Ntalah available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change or discontinue features, and will give reasonable notice of anything that materially affects you.
8. Ending your account
You can close your account at any time. We may suspend an account that breaches these terms. Because a savings group is a shared record, contributions and payouts you have already recorded remain visible to that group — see the Privacy Policy.
9. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for money your group loses, for a member who does not pay, for a dispute between members, or for a decision made on the basis of an AI insight. [Liability cap and governing law — to confirm]
